The OEB gave the market until October 26, 2021 to comment on its Green Button Implementation – Draft OEB Staff Guidance OEB File No. EB-2021-0183. The results are in, but there is still a considerable amount of work to do to get Ontario working together to ensure the implementation of Green Button is achieved. There are many items that need to be addressed. The OEB’s establishment of an industry-led Implementation Working Group is the next step. This will allow Ontario local distribution companies, software vendors and ‘champions’ for the energy user to work through business and technical issues together. Ontario’s energy industry has done this before. It is time to do it again as one.
